Vaishno Devi Main Temple
About : The Vaishno Devi Temple was made in the year 2000. When the image of Maa Kali, Maa Durga and Maa Saraswati were found on the hill (Durgapur hill). It is the replica of Maa Vaishno Devi Temple, Jammu (trikuta hill) and is situated on the top of the hill and facing towards Rourkela Steel Plant. As like as Jammu Vaishno Devi temple here also Bhairabinatha temple situated near VaishnoDevi Temple on the top of hill.

TIME TO VISIT :

During Durga Puja in the spring and autumn seasons, the Navaratri festival is Celebrated, hundreds of Hindu worshipers comes here.

ATTRACTION POINT :

Due to it's location with a cave where the Vaishno Devi Shrine located this place attracts many devotee to visit this place.  For its green and scenic location nature lover's also attracted to this place. From this temple corridor one can have a bird eye view of Rourkela Township which is otherwise not possible.

HOW TO REACH :

To visit this place there are two alternative roads. One from Rourkela railway colony side from Mangoldam Road, Basanti Colony via timber colony road and reach the foothill of the place. Then go  to temple by foot through more than hundreds of steps.

Another road is from ring road crossing near BSNL Office through timber colony road and reaches the foothill. There is no direct share transportation to link this place.
