ABOUT :-  Nandankanna Zoological Park is a 400 hectare zoo and botanical garden in bhubaneswar, Odisha. Established in 1960. It was opened to the public in 1979 and became the first zoo in india to join World Association of zoo and Aquariums in 2009.

A major upgrade was done in 2000 after damage caused by the super cyclone of 1999 in coastal Odisha. more than 2 million visitors visit Nandankanan every year.

ANIMALS AND EXHIBITS :-

The zoo is the home to about 1660 individual animals representing 166 species, including 67 species of mammals, 81 species of birds, and 18 species of reptiles.

Nandankanan zoological park Became the First zoo in India to have rare melanistic or black tigers to show them.

Four cubs including two melanistic duo were born to a white tigress sneha and a male Royal Bengal tiger Manish. 

MELANISTIC TIGER OR BLACK TIGER :-

 There are reports and one painting (now lost) of pure black non- striped tigers (true melanistic tigers).  Most black mammals are due to the non- agoti mutation. Agouti refers to the ticking of each individual hair. In certain light, the pattern still shows up because the background color is less dense than the color of the marking.

The melanistic tiger also belongs to the Royal Bengal Tiger species and same in size as yellow ones.

.The difference between Black tiger and Common type tiger is that the former has wide black patches, while the back color prominent in the melanstic tigers.

WHITE TIGER :-

The white tiger is a pigmentation variant of the Bengal tiger, which is reported in the wild from time to time in the Indian state.

After visit all the Caged animals we decide to travel Safari. It includes Tiger, Lion, Bear and Dear Safari Duration of spending time in safari only 30 min, After buying Safari ticket Worth of 50 rupees per head we stand a long queue for the bus few minute later  its time see the free hunter animals it was really so exciting for me and ready to shoot the real hunter animals in my small digi camera, Actually i wish a lot but unfortunately it cant but few of wish came true  like the male and female lions are came close towards our bus and the bus driver shout to close all the doors it really feels me excited and later we saw the bears and few spotted dears also but for white tiger feels little bit disappoint because the lazy white tiger slept far away my eye can see but my camera not ......
